Daniel Margolin

Daniel Margolin is the founder of Margolin Family Law and a Portland, Oregon native. His practice focuses on all aspects of family law litigation. Dan applies his litigation expertise to provide additional expertise when assisting clients with Family Law Appeals and Collaborative Divorce matters.

After graduating from New York University School of Law, Daniel worked at the Oregon Court of Appeals for the Honorable Rex Armstrong.  Dan then worked as an associate attorney at a local law firm. He has been practicing family law in Oregon since 2005.

Dan has the ability to switch between a direct and aggressive litigation style or a reasonable interest driven problem solving approach.  Dan’s sole focus is the best possible outcome for his client.  He takes the time to listen and understand what they really need in order to not only resolve their case in conformance with their goals, but also to ensure that they can move forward after their case as self-sufficiently and confidently as possible.

Dan presents frequently at local and national Continuing Legal Education Seminars, including the OLI Family Law Annual seminar.  At that CLE, Daniel presented the Family Law Appellate Update.  Dan has also authored CLE chapters for the Oregon State Bar, including the Torts chapter, and authored the lead article for the Oregon Bar Association’s Family Law Newsletter in December of 2009 with an article on Collaborative Divorce.

In his personal time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, reading sci-fi books, cooking, traveling, and trying new restaurants.

Dan has been featured as an expert on family law in The Oregonian newspaper. Links to the articles can be found here:
